Retail and Fashion Merchandising Paris, France Study Tour

Overview

Join in on a first-hand, immersive experience to discover the culture of this fashion center and the factors, economic and sensory, influencing retail merchandising and fashion product development. This experience provides you with experiential learning of the core of retail and fashion merchandising, all in the span of spring break.

The Paris fashion industry will be the key focus of your program time:  a Galeries Lafayette runway show is scheduled, with additional featured venues that may include Montmarte, Beau Souci, Clara Larde, Marche Serpette, Merci, Chapal, Atelier Cologne, ERNST, Cecile et Jeanne, Maria deCarvalho, Lesage, Louis Vuitton Foundation/Musee, and a planned excursion to the Palace of Versailles – a chance for students to travel mid-program to an historical venue of global magnitude.

Experience the culinary and shopping side of French culture by exploring Parisian shops and cafes on Rue de Rivoli, hopping on and off the Metro subway and witnessing cultural venues on nearly every corner. Visit the neighborhood of Montmarte, where you can discover the bohemian lives of inspiring artist past and present. Bakeries and flea markets add to the Parisian experience. Stop at the nearby Musee D’Orsay, Louvre, or Pompidou art museums to better understand the French and their revolutionary creative ways.
